The next chapter
of the same story.

AstroLume grew out of the lighting and decorating work carried out under Elite Landscape Contractors. After 28 years of that work, we stepped away from the landscape business to focus fully on lighting. AstroLume is the standalone business name for that next chapter.

Eric and Jennifer Jones are still the people behind it. The experience, relationships, and history built under Elite carry forward with them. We carry that history into a business dedicated to Christmas lighting, with expansion into permanent installations and lighting beyond Christmas.

For a familiar customer, it is a new way to find the same people. For someone meeting us for the first time, it is a chance to begin with a team whose experience reaches well beyond the new name.

  1. 01 / THE FAMILY FOUNDATION · 1977

    It began with Elite.

    Orval Jones founded Elite Landscape Service & Nursery in 1977. That family landscape business became the foundation for decades of work across the Piedmont Triad, and for Eric’s hands-on career in landscapes, design, and contracting.

  2. 02 / 28 YEARS OF LIGHTING & DECORATING

    Season after season, under Elite.

    Our lighting history was built while decorating under Elite Landscape Contractors. Those 28 years belong to that work and experience, long before AstroLume had its own name.

  3. 03 / THE ASTROLUME CHAPTER

    A full focus on lighting.

    Eric and Jennifer stepped away from the landscape business to put their full focus into AstroLume Exterior Lighting. Christmas lighting is the core of the business, with expansion into permanent lighting installations and other exterior lighting for the rest of the year.

Jennifer Jones

Jennifer brings the people and planning side of the business into AstroLume’s next chapter.

Raised on her family’s working dairy farm, Jennifer grew up with a practical understanding of land, responsibility, and family business. Her career later took her into leadership in insurance and health and beauty, where she managed major accounts and built experience in operations, customer service, and long-term relationships.

At Elite, her work included planning, operations, and client experience. That background shapes how she approaches AstroLume: listening to what a customer has in mind, working through the details, and helping turn a first conversation into a clear direction.

Alongside her business experience, Jennifer continues hands-on study in horticulture and agriculture. For a company centered on homes and outdoor spaces, that connection to the landscape is part of the foundation she brings.

DESIGN KNOWLEDGE. EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD.

Eric Jones

Eric brings a lifetime around landscapes and contracting to the way AstroLume sees a property.

Eric began working with his family’s Elite Landscape Contractors while still in high school. His experience grew across landscape construction, design, irrigation, estimating, crew leadership, and the everyday work of delivering projects for customers.

He studied Landscape Architecture and became a professor of horticulture and department chair. That combination of design education, teaching, and field experience gives him a broad view of a home’s outdoor spaces—from its roofline and entry to the trees and landscape around it.

At AstroLume, that perspective supports lighting that considers the whole property. Eric carries forward the experience developed under Elite, pairing practical planning with an understanding of how the landscape and the home work together.
